Doosan Pistons & Liners Parts

Pistons and cylinder liners form the combustion chamber and transfer gas pressure to the connecting rod and crankshaft. A typical assembly includes the piston crown and skirt, compression and oil control rings, gudgeon pin and retaining circlips, and a wet or dry cylinder liner sealed to the block by O-rings or a flange. Liner wear, bore glazing, ring sticking and piston crown erosion all reduce compression and increase oil consumption and blow-by. Pistons and liners are normally replaced together as a matched set, along with new rings and seals, because reusing a worn liner with a new piston rarely restores the correct running clearance.

AMS Parts supplies a wide range of pistons & liners components for Doosan engines used in power generation, marine, and industrial applications. Browse the full range below, or contact us for specific requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know when pistons and liners need replacing?

Rising oil consumption, excessive blow-by at the breather, loss of compression, or blue exhaust smoke are common indicators. A bore measurement against the manufacturer's wear limits gives a definitive answer.

Should pistons and liners be replaced as a set?

Yes. Fitting a new piston into a worn liner leaves an incorrect running clearance and shortens the life of both parts. Rings and liner seals should be renewed at the same time.

What are oversize pistons used for?

Oversize pistons suit blocks that have been rebored beyond standard dimensions. The piston, rings and liner must all match the same size grade.
