The crankshaft converts the reciprocating motion of the pistons into rotation and carries that power to the flywheel and driven equipment, supported along its length by bearings that depend on a pressurised oil film. Doosan supplies bearings in standard and undersize grades, so a worn crankshaft can often be reground rather than replaced.
