Covers, shields and housings enclose and protect engine assemblies, direct fluids where they are needed, and keep radiant heat away from components that cannot tolerate it. This group covers rocker and valve covers, timing covers, flywheel and bell housings, gear housings, heat shields, guards and inspection plates. On machine installations these components also take physical knocks and debris impact that a fixed engine would not, so damage is more common than on generator or marine engines. Persistent cover leaks usually come from a distorted flange, over-tightened fasteners or a blocked crankcase breather raising internal pressure rather than from the cover itself.
AMS Parts supplies a wide range of covers, shields & housings components for Doosan engines used in power generation, marine, and industrial applications. Browse the full range below, or contact us for specific requirements.
A distorted flange, over-tightened fasteners, or a blocked crankcase breather raising internal pressure. The breather is the most commonly overlooked cause.
Yes. A distorted guard no longer protects effectively and may contact and wear adjacent components, and heat shields protect hoses and wiring from radiant heat.
Yes, usually to a low figure. Over-tightening distorts the flange and causes the leak the work was meant to fix.
