CAT Pumps Parts

Pumps circulate the fluids an engine depends on, and a decline in any of them shows up quickly elsewhere — bearings starved of oil, or a cylinder head running without coolant. This group covers lubricating oil pumps, water and coolant pumps, fuel transfer and priming pumps, scavenge pumps, and the auxiliary and hydraulic pumps fitted to CAT machines and gensets. CAT descriptions frequently use the GP suffix here, so a Pump GP is supplied as a group including mounting and drive components rather than a bare pump. Water pump failure typically announces itself through the weep hole or as bearing noise at the pulley, while a worn oil pump shows as low pressure once the engine reaches operating temperature.

AMS Parts supplies a wide range of pumps components for CAT engines used in power generation, marine, and industrial applications. Browse the full range below, or contact us for specific requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a Pump GP and a bare pump?

A Pump GP is a group, supplied with the associated mounting, drive and sealing components. A bare pump is the pump body alone, so confirm which is required before ordering.

What are the signs of a failing water pump?

Coolant seepage from the weep hole, play or noise at the pulley bearing, and overheating under load. A weeping drain hole means the internal seal has gone and the pump needs replacing.

Why has oil pressure dropped on my CAT engine?

A worn oil pump, increased bearing clearance, a stuck relief valve, a blocked pick-up strainer, or fuel dilution of the oil. Confirm with a mechanical gauge before dismantling.
